Crying Room / Urban Eyrie

We are interested in how the city caters for the emotional needs of its inhabitants, in particular the need to be intensely private in a public place: a condition that arises from moments of bereavement, sentimentality and melancholy… Using the theme of the desire to lose oneself in the city, we wanted a piece evocative of a particular mood that would be a discourse on the ephemeral in architecture: to capture a fleeting moment: like the feeling of the sun on a hot summer’s day or the first daffodils of Spring… A place to get lost one way or another, to wander aimlessly and hallucinate and to come out again, a little dislocated for the mirage of real life.
